Anna Faris is a comedian who has supposedly gotten her big break, 10 times. The movie she was reportedly hilarious in, Smiley Face, was seen by no one, and thus far her biggest credits are the Scary Movie series, which no one should really be proud of.But The House Bunny might finally be her chance. The comedy, set to come out later this summer, stars Faris as a Playboy bunny kicked out of Hef’s mansion and forced to break out into the world on her own. She finds her way to the local college campus, where she decides to become the “house mother” for the geekiest sorority on campus. She can teach the girls about how to tap into their beautiful selves, while the girls can teach her how to be, uh, smart. There’s all sorts of familiar faces in the trailer, from American Idol’s Katharine McPhee to Superbad hottie Emma Stone, both as “geeky” sorority girls. There’s also Tom Hanks’ son Colin, who will presumably be a love interest for Faris’ character. The setup is pretty similar to last fall’s Sydney White but since no one saw that, it shouldn’t be much of a problem. The jokes are a little corny and the story a little obvious, but people who loved Legally Blonde would probably want to give this one a look. Check out the trailer below and decide for yourself if this is Faris’ big break, or just another bubbleheaded teen comedy.
