Trailer For Nim's Island![]()
It's been a few decades since theSwiss Family Robinson movie, and it's about time to make kids fantasize about living in a treehouse again. That's what Nim's Island is for, an adventure comedy about a girl (Abigail Breslin) who lives on a remote island with her father, and has seals for pets. Seals! When her father disappears one day, though, she writes to her favorite writer, Alex Rover (Jodie Foster), believing she's the famous adventurer written about in her books. It turns out Alex is shy and homebound, but she decides to help out Nim anyway, and travels to—ahem--Nim's Island to help the girl out.
The new international trailer, available here, makes this whole crazy concept look a lot more believable than I made it sound. Jodie Foster, of course, can do anything, and it looks like she's going into some slapstick comedy here, an interesting change for her (the last example I can think of is the original Freaky Friday). And Breslin, the default child actor of our times, is looking typically adorable. Check out the trailer for yourself and decide if I just want to live in a treehouse so badly that this nutty movie actually looks good, or if it really will be worth watching. Nim's Island comes out on April 4. Click to view the international Nim's Island trailer |
