For those of you ladies looking for an outlet to drool over Ryan Kwanten now that True Blood is between seasons, I have your solution right here in the form of Red Hill. This isn’t your typical Ryan Kwanten though. Gone is lovable idiocy and the perfectly messed up hair, in their place is a life as an actual cop looking for a life outside the city where he can live peacefully with his family.

Of course, if that was the case the movie wouldn’t be very interesting. Red Hill is basically is a western pseudo-horror/thriller piece in which an escaped convict comes to the small town (obviously) and brings with him a wave of terror that the whole town can’t seem to stop. The film is set in Kwanten’s native Australia, which means he’ll be speaking with his home grown Australian accent.

The trailer looks, for lack of a better word, dope. Writer/Director Patrick Hughes seems to have taken dark and gritty to the next level as just about every shot looks to have been filmed through a lens covered in dust. I say that with love as the atmosphere of the trailer feels chilling.

Red Hill drops November 5th in the states but this trailer should hold you over. Plus with all the True Blood buzz rolling around I’m sure we’ll hear more about this before the release. Scope the trailer below or in glorious HD over at Apple.
