After a fairly successful run on the early-year film festival circuit, the first, beautiful trailer for Moon has arrived. I caught it back at Sundance in January, and while it’s not a perfect film it is smart, thoughtful, and well-constructed. It’s hard to talk much about it without ruining it, and even the trailer honestly spoils it a little by revealing what Sam Rockwell finds in the mysterious, crashed crawler on the moon. No I’m not telling you what it is. Watch the trailer below, or don’t, but this is really a movie you're better off going into knowing absolutely nothing about.
What I can tell you is that Moon is the story of one man, stuck in space, looking back at the Earth and longing for a life which may or may not exist. Sam Rockwell gives another one of his great performances and if you love brain-bending science fiction then it’s a movie you won’t want to miss. Watch for it in limited release on June 12th. Here’s that mildly spoilery new trailer. Watch it in high-res over at IGN.
