By all accounts, Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez are the best of friends, but they're production speed couldn't be any different. Tarantino's last film, Inglorious Basterds, came out in August 2009 and we still have no idea what he plans to do next. On the other side, Rodriguez used last year to direct Machete, be the executive producer Predators, start production on Spy Kids 4 and talk up Sin City 2. Now we learn that he's been working on a short film for Nike with Kobe Bryant called The Black Mamba.

Nike has released the trailer for the short film via their YouTube account and we don't really see much more than Bryant handling a basketball while the same voice-over guy from Grindhouse and Machete narrates. Do we have any idea what it's about? No clue, but apparently it will provide Bryant with his biggest challenge yet, whatever that may be. Check out the trailer below.
