Oh Matthew McConaughey, I know you're going to make me pay for this enthusiasm later. But The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, the romantic comedy in which America's shirtless wonder gets Jennifer Garner as a reward for no longer being a prig, actually looks kinda cute.

The movie's new trailer, posted by Moviefone and embedded here below, contains so many chick flick cliches that Justin Long is probably already parodying it. And McConaughey is really just doing his usual thing-- affable womanizer-- with the added twist of a Christmas Carol-type story that finds three ghosts of girlfriends past, present and future showing him how to get it together and tell Jennifer Garner he really loves her.

But what can I say? Maybe the formula will work this time, and my faith will be rewarded. Or maybe I'm just being sucked in by a good trailer. Check it out for yourself below. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past comes out May 1.
