Michael Keaton is pulling double duty for the dark romantic comedy The Merry Gentleman. Keaton makes his directorial debut and stars as one of the film’s lead characters, Frank Logan. Frank is a suicidal hit man who, through a series of unusual events, develops a relationship with another troubled individual, Kate Frazier (Kelly McDonald). She recently left her abusive husband for a new life and gets stuck under a Christmas tree.

The recently released trailer really gets down to the point: this film is about two lonely people who find each other by chance and develop a comforting relationship with one another.
