When we saw the teaser trailer for Notorious last month, I wondered how we could tel if it would be any good, given that most of the sound and a lot of the footage came from the actual life of Notorious B.I.G. But now the movie has a full, official trailer, posted at Apple.com, shows us enough to find out if Jamal Woolard in the lead role will do justice to B.I.G.'s legacy.
The movie seems to be hewing pretty closely to the rags-to-riches biopic tale we've seen for many musicians, though this one of course ends with a fatal shooting rather than happily ever after. But the movie seems to be doing a good job of representing B.I.G.'s Brooklyn roots, and having Angela Bassett playing the mom is never a bad thing. Notorious comes out January 16 next year; check out the trailer below and decide how excited you're willing to get.
