The first trailer for Sean Penn’s new movie Milk is here. Start the Oscar buzz, it looks like another brilliant, moving, Sean Penn performance.
Milk tells the story of Harvey Milk (Penn), the first openly gay elected official in San Francisco. The trailer seems focused on telling the story of his campaign, and his fight for civil rights. It’s directed by the normally oddball Gus Van Sant, but the trailer has all the glitz and glamour of a Ron Howard movie. Take a look:

Harvey Milk was a San Francisco city supervisor - he wasn't the mayor. Not that it lessens his accomplishments, though.
