Paramount Vantage is planning a surprise for you in April. They’ve picked up a little movie called The Foot Fist Way, and apparently Adam McKay and Will Ferrell think it’s really really funny. I know that, because the movie’s first trailer has popped up online and it spends a lot of time proclaiming Ferrell and McKay’s love of the movie. Judging from the box office performance of Semi Pro this past weekend, maybe that’s not a good thing.

Luckily, the trailer really is out of this world funny. People who’ve seen it are already making all sorts of wild, comedic comparisons putting it on par with the true cult classics of the genre. I don’t know if the trailer is that funny, but man there’s definitely a lot of potential in it, whatever it is. Imagine if the Rex Kwan Do guy from Napoleon Dynamite got his own spin-off movie, and unlike Napoleon Dynamite it was actually funny, and you’d have this: the first trailer for The Foot Fist Way.
