Trailer Trash: Nancy Drew, Fast Track, Primeval, 9/11 Reign
Today's bag of Trailer Trash contains four low-profile trailers. The first is a trailer for a Zach Braff movie that isn't being advertised. The second is for the first movie from heir apparent to the Olsen Twins, Emma Roberts. Third, Hollywood Pictures tries to fool us into thinking they're pushing a serial killer movie. Fourth, Adam Sandler depresses the hell out of everyone.
![]() Fast Track This is an odd one. Fast Track is apparently the next Zach Braff comedy, what's odd is that it opens in two weeks and yet The Weinstein Company hasn't bothered to advertise it. It has a star-studded cast with Braff, Amanda Peet, Jason Bateman, Charles Grodin and SNL's Fred Armison. They should be able to make at least a little bit of money off of it. Why haven't we heard anything about it? Well, at least now there's a trailer. Braff stars as a slacker forced to work for his father-in-law after his pregnant wife quits her high paying employment. At work, he runs into a handicapped go-getter named Jason Bateman, who plots to steal his wife and his life from his wheelchair.
After making a splash earlier in 2006 as part of the teenage girl giggle fest Aquamarine, Emma Roberts is supposed to be the next big thing in girls entertainment. She'll officially take over for the departed Olsen Twins with her summer resurrection of the teenage detective Nancy Drew. The film has Nancy accompanying her father to Los Angeles, where she finds clues and solves a mystery involving a movie star. The trailer plays like Hollywoodland meets Clueless. Too weird for me, but your daughter will love it. God help us all.
Primeval is the latest in giant, killer croc movies. But they're advertising it like a serial killer thriller set in the African savannah. Watch 'Prison Breaks' Dominic Purcell and 7-Up's Orlando Jones get eaten by scary, off camera things in the trailer below.
Adam Sandler returns to making depressing movies in this post-9/11 suffering film. Sandler, Don Cheadle, Liv Tyler, and Jada Pinket Smith star in a movie about a man (Sandler) who lost his family in the September 11 attack on New York City who runs into his old college roommate (Cheadle). Rekindling the friendship is the one thing that appears able to help the man recover from his grief.
