Since Baz Luhrman made the musical the new “it” Oscar Bait, a plethora of Broadway musicals are being prepped tp go into production. Moulin Rouge is X-Men. Without the success of the one risk taker, then we wouldn’t have gotten Spider-Man.

No Stranger to the comic book movie genre is director Joel Schumacher, aka the man who made the Caped Crusader “perky”, even before Mr. Freeze could get his hands on him. Well now Schumacher can afford to get extravagantly gay in his latest flick Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera. The final trailer for the new musical is now online. I’m hoping they have a new poster too. I saw some of the reject ones....so much better than that boring old romance novel cover of a poster.

I’m still not sold on this yet. Look for The Phantom to hit select cities December 22nd, and wide soon there after.
