Transfomers Sequel Transforms Title![]()
Creating a sequel is a tricky business. You want to recapture all of the success of the first film, but not lose audience members that are jaded by sequels. So what do you do? Well, a lot of movies get rid of that pesky number that indicates a sequel; for example: Die Hard: With A Vengeance, X-Men: The Last Stand, and The Dark Knight.
Michael Bay’s upcoming Transformers sequel will be the latest film to join that trend, changing the title of the film from Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. No, there’s no need to analyze the two titles for what’s different. It’s just a dropped number. I guess it’s a testament to Transformers fandom that a dropped number from the title is news worthy. Still, we aren’t the only ones reporting it, so I guess I don’t feel completely shallow for making some kind of deal out of this. The news comes via Coming Soon.net. It’s also probably the biggest Transformers news you’ll get in the next month, as Paramount is undoubtedly holding any kind of big announcement for San Diego Comic-Con. |
