Transformers 2 is still in the middle of filming, but it looks like Paramount already has some pretty firm plans to make Transformers 3. According to Dark Horizons they’ve gone so far as to start locking in released dates for the third robot fighting film.

The movie doesn’t have a domestic release date so far, however it’s set for a June 29th, 2011 release in Germany and you can bet that it’ll show up somewhere around the same time here in the United States. With Transformers 2 opening this summer, that gives Paramount a new Transformers movie every other year.

We’ve known for awhile now that Paramount had plans to keep the franchise going. Way back in 2007 word broke that Paramount had already approved both Transformers 2 and Transformers 3. No surprise here.

Other than a release date, there’s nothing known about the third movie. Will Michael Bay be back? Will Optimus Prime still be in charge of the Autobots? Will Shia LaBeouf get sick of playing second fiddle to a special effect? Maybe we should watch the second movie before we start worrying about the third.
