Trent Reznor Hired To Score The Social Network![]()
Lead singer of Nine Inch Nails Trent Reznor has announced, via the band's fansite, that he and composer Atticus Ross will be scoring the upcoming David Fincher film The Social Network. The film won't be Reznor's first dip into the film world having previously contributed to soundtrack of Fincher's Se7en, as well as movies like Natural Born Killers and Wanted. Though the singer has never composed a score for a film, he did do the music for the 1996 videogame Quake. Ross' credits include work on the television show Touching Evil as well as the films New York, I Love You and The Book of Eli.
If you are in any way familiar with the work of Reznor and his band, you now know that this sends a very distinct message about the tone that the film will take. The artist isn't exactly known for writing songs that examine the cheerful aspects of life (the song he composed for the Resident Evil soundtrack is titled "Fist Fuck" if that means anything.) In fact, in his announcement, Reznor mentions that he's seen the film and that "it's really fucking good. And dark!" Sounds right up his alley. (via Pitchfork) |
