Tribeca: Burning Down the House Red Carpet![]()
Burning Down the House: The Story of CBGB may be keeping director Mandy Stein busy, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t set time aside to remember the past and plan for the future. Mandy is the daughter of Linda Stein, the manager of the Ramones who was murdered in her New York City apartment back in 2007. The debut of her film at the Tribeca Film Festival happens to coincide with what would have been her mother’s 64th birthday.
While Mandy may have been a little overwhelmed by the emotion and excitement of the evening, she was eager to talk with me about her upcoming projects Bad Brains: A Band in D.C. and the film being developed about Eddie Antar, better known as ‘Crazy Eddie.’ The most recent article from Variety dubbed Danny DeVito the director of Crazy Eddie. Stein never mentioned the particular role she’ll play in the film’s creation, so if there hasn’t been a director switch, I’d imagine she’ll be producing. Joining Stein on the carpet was CBGB frequenters including Marky Ramone of the Ramones and Fab 5 Freddy. Check out the second video to get a look at everything I saw on the red carpet for Burning Down the House: The Story of CBGB. |
