Trio Of Awesome Comedians Go Animated![]()
What do Robert Downey Jr. and Tina Fey have in common? It could be that they are two of the biggest pop-culture sensations in our nation right now. They are both also in talks to lend voiceovers to an upcoming Dreamworks Animation comedy with Ben Stiller. Stiller is also set to produce the project, titled Master Mind with his production company, Red Hour Films.
THR reports that Master Mind will be a satire about a superhero villain suffering an existential crisis. The bad guy loses his touch after he accidentally kills his archenemy, the good guy. The concept sounds so awesome that I am surprised that it’s never been done before in comedic form. Alan J. Schoolcraft and Brent Simons wrote the script and Dreamworks plans to get the flick released by 2010. With Dreamworks hot off of their Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa moneymaking streak, it is no wonder that they have been able to nab such big names in show business. Not only that, but Kung Fu Panda was actually good. Lucky for us Downey Jr. and Fey haven’t gotten to big for their Oscar-nominated/Golden Globe winning britches and are still up for some comedic side projects like this. With a cast as glorious as this and a framework straight from comic-book heaven, how could it not be funny? |
