I’d heard Paramount was working on a spoof of the Apocalypse Now documentary Hearts of Darkness to accompany their hilarious looking new comedy Tropic Thunder, but I had no idea it would be anything more than a DVD feature. Apparently they’re taking this thing a little further than a thruway extra. The documentary is called Rain of Madness, and it has its own trailer. Thanks to the guys at JoBlo for spotting it, because it looks every bit as awesome as the movie it’s fake documenting.
Rain of Madness is the story behind the story of Tropic Thunder. After only five days of shooting, the film was two months behind schedule and 100 million dollars over budget. Watch as it chronicles an apocalyptic meltdown that will bring your soul to its knees. The trailer is available only on iTunes, so to watch it you’d better be an Apple fan. If you are, just click right here to open it up and start downloading.
