Tucker & Dale vs. Evil Gets Picked Up By Magnet Releasing![]()
When Eli Craig's Tucker & Dale vs. Evil premiered at last years Sundance Film Festival it was praised for it ability to play with genre conventions and successfully blend both horror and comedy elements. Despite the positive marks, however, the film wasn't picked up by a studio and has been floating around in limbo for the last year and a half. Finally something has been done to fix that.
A press release has announced that Magnet Releasing has purchased the distribution rights to Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. In the film Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine star as two rednecks who are vacationing in a cabin in the woods. When a group of teenagers on Spring Break show up, they begin dying in horrific ways and believe that Tucker and Dale are responsible. The film has already earned multiple awards on the film festival circuit including the Midnight Audience Award at SXSW. The film will hit theaters on September 30, but will be available on VOD August 26th. While I haven't had the pleasure of seeing the film myself, but our own Katey Rich saw it at Sundance and gave it quite a bit of praise. For those unfamiliar with the project, be sure to check out the fan-made trailer below. |
