Turn Yourself Into A Na'vi In Los Angeles Tomorrow![]()
Avatar fanboys are just like any other fanboys: they want to dress up like their favorite characters. Searching for "Avatar Photoshop" on YouTube yields about 2,450 videos of people taking their own picture or a celebrities picture and making them look more blue and cat like. This, of course, is amateur work compared to what James Cameron actually did with the movie. He used the most advanced facial recognition technology known to create the greatest computer generated effects known to man. And now you can use them too...if you happen to live in Los Angeles.
In conjunction with the DVD/Blu-ray release on April 22nd, Fox is holding a special event tomorrow (April 16th) where fans can use software that will make them look like one of the Na'vi. The exhibit will be taking place at the main statue in The Grove beginning at 2:00 PM. Once fans are morphed, they can choose to give their email address to the staff who will then send them a video of the transformation. Finally, those with Post-Avatar Depression will have an outlet for their sadness by stepping into Pandora for a few minutes. And, even better, perhaps afterwords they will stop bitching about how they will never be eaten by a viperwolf and return to reality. |
