With most movies it's hard to get excited about deleted scenes when you haven't even seen the ones that made it into the movie. But then again, Twilight isn't most movies. That's why Collider was anxious to know about plans for the DVD when they spoke to director Catherine Hardwicke over the weekend. And, of course, she won't be letting the Twilight fans down. The DVD will include twelve deleted scenes, along with plenty of other extras.
Hardwicke seems to be about as excited about the DVD as the average Twilight fan who spends their time making YouTube mash-ups of the trailer. "Actually, I have been working on the DVD already. So we put together all the deleted scenes and extended scenes, there's quite a few, like 12 or something like that. And then I made some montages of some other crazy elements, like more vampire kiss, biting. And more human hijinks. And I made a pretty wild music video, like a remix of Bella's Lullaby and I did some pretty trippy things that you may like."
Vampire kiss? Biting? Hijinks? Wow, this movie might be a lot more interesting than we gave it credit for. She also goes into detail about some of the extended scenes you'll see, but head over to Collider for those gory details. It seems pretty clear that Hardwicke is as crazy about the world she created from Stephenie Meyer's books as all those teenage fans are. Good news for both the DVD release and the possibility for Twilight to turn into a franchise.
