Twilight is almost here and the various bit players are planning to get while the gettin’s good. This includes an actor named Kellan Lutz who is playing a character in the teen Vampire soap called Emmett Cullen. I haven’t read the book, but I’m going to go out on a limb and guess Emmett Cullen is some sort of really good looking vampire heartthrob.

Not only is Lutz one of the screamed at Twilight mob, he’s also doing a movie in Connecticut called Warrior. How do I know this? He told the MTV Movies Blog that, “I’m gonna be doing [a movie] in Connecticut in December, it’s called Warrior.” So, he’s either doing that movie or he’s a dammed liar. The other stars, director, or likelihood that anyone will ever see this movie aren’t discussed in the article, but we did get a vague plot outline. “It’s a sports movie about a lacrosse player whose dad dies in the military,” Lutz said. “He goes away to this camp and really matures, and becomes a man. Then he comes back and he finishes up and ties up all his loose ends.” Good to see he will “finish up” and tie up all those loose ends, whatever they may be.

Lutz is already well known to teen girls from his stint on 90210. There is more to this guy than good looks and screaming female fans, though. He also talks economics from time to time. Explaining how he wants to keep working on indie pictures, Lutz said “I’m working on a couple of independents. A lot of it is kinda tough right now with funding and the recession.” If the Twilight thing doesn’t work out, look for Lutz in Warrior or giving ad-hoc Keynesian Theory lectures.
