Summit Entertainment has sent along their official schedule for panels at this year's San Diego Comic Con, and there's a huge surprise in there: Twilight is sitting out this year. With Breaking Dawn not set to start shooting until fall and Eclipse dominating theaters, perhaps the studio figured it wasn't worth the expense and headache of flying the cast out there and wrangling 5,000 screaming teenage girls in black "Team Edward" T-shirts. Or maybe they figured they'd give the rest of us and our eardrums a year off. Either way, the hardcore nerds are going to have to find something else to complain about this year, since Edward and Bella and Jacob are staying home.
Instead, Summit will be showing off two new projects that are much more in the male-centric wheelhouse. Up first on Thursday afternoon is a Hall H panel for Red, the graphic novel adaptation starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren. You may also remember it from the trailer as "the movie where Helen Mirren shoots a bunch of huge guns." Yeah, you know you're excited. The second panel comes Friday morning for Drive Angry 3D, the movie in which Nic Cage drives a car and kills a bunch of people to track down his daughter. Check out the full panel information below, and stay tuned-- a lot of Comic Con announcements are set to go out today. This is just the beginning! Thursday, July 22, 2010 – 2:15pm – 3:15pm – Hall H:(Hat tip to Cinematical for getting the confirmation from Summit about no Twilight) Back to top
