Two Clips From Moneyball Show Brad Pitt Getting His Way
It was always an uphill battle for Oakland A's General Manager Billy Beane. When he first signed on to the team he was neutralized because the organization didn't have enough money to afford quality players. Then he worked to devise a new system of scouting that would allow him to target cheaper players, but the organization didn't even want to spend a little money on what they saw as a major risk. Watching the first two clips from the Bennett Miller directed Moneyball, starring Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill, it appears that the struggle, resistance and bargaining has found its way into the film.
In the first clip, Beane (Pitt) has his partner, Peter Brand (Hill), make a call requesting $225,000 to get pitcher Ricardo Rincon. As you will see, the GM is willing to put it all on the line to see his plan go through. Watch the video below or in HD over on Yahoo! In the second clip, Beane and Brand have a sit down with Manager Art Howe (Philip Seymour Hoffman) to discuss the new lineup. What Howe doesn't realize is that Beane and Brand have come in to deliver some big news. Check out the video below, courtesy of Hollywood.com. Moneyball, based on the book by Michael Lewis and adapted by Aaron Sorkin and Steven Zaillian, arrives in theaters on September 23rd.
