When the "final" poster for Watchmen surfaced a few days ago, many of us were disappointed, and wondering if that was really the best they thought they could do. Really, we should have known to expect more from a promotional team that's been full of surprises. There are two new posters for the movie floating around the web, with one of them 100% legit, and both of them are pretty stunning.

First up is the IMAX poster, snagged by MTV Movies, and really emphasizing the whole notion of "Big big big!" on IMAX. Still, given that one of the main characters is a blue man who can become a giant at will, it fits. The second poster has been all over but you can see it in full size at Trailer Addict. I have no reason to doubt its legitimacy, other than maybe it's just too gorgeous? If I see this image in a movie theater though, I'll be pretty damn thrilled.

Check out smaller versions of the new posters below. This is all reminding me of the final marketing push for The Dark Knight, when each new poster was more beautiful than the last. I hate putting pressure on Watchmen by comparing it endlessly to TDK, but in this case I think it's apt.
