Two More Tracy Morgan Comedies On The Way![]()
Warner Bros. must be pleased with the way Cop Out performed, because the studio has booked Tracy Morgan for another comedy. ID Theft will feature Morgan as a dad struggling with financial troubles. When a suburban father’s credit card winds up in his hands, he decides to use it as an easy way out. The script comes from SNL writers Colin Jost and Rob Klein.
Warner Bros. isn’t the only studio investing in Morgan. As reported by Deadline Hollywood, Paramount has him in their own comedy called Freshman Roommates, in which he’ll star alongside TJ Miller. There are no plot details for that one, but the studio is courting Blades of Glory’s John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky to work on a new draft of the script because the original writers, John Mulaney and Nick Kroll, are no longer available. Morgan is great, but only in small doses. Can we really handle one let alone two more feature films with him in the lead? At least he has a promising co-star in Freshman Roommates. Miller was actually in Cloverfield, but he played Hud, the man behind the camera, so we rarely saw his face. However, he has a supporting role in She’s Out of My League and while he does overdo some of his gags, much like Morgan, his humor is rather refreshing. |
