Two New Avatar Clips Show Off The Action
A week from this moment I will be sitting down for a screening of Avatar, which means I can finally stop writing about the promotional campaign for this movie with a tone of "Well, this looks cool, but who knows what the movie will actually be like?" Thank God. It feels like there's been a never-ending stream of posters and trailers and behind-the-scenes featurettes to write up ever since Comic Con, and as excited as I remain to see what James Cameron has in store, I'm a wee bit burnt out.
That said, the two new clips available at Cineplex.com are worth coming up with new adjectives for how cool this movie looks. The first is a short clip of Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) showing Jake (Sam Worthington) how to lure a dragon-type beast and make him allow Jake to ride him. The second is even more impressive, an extended sequence of Jake running away from a big-toothed beast in the forest and escaping by jumping off a clip into the river. I loved the segment when I saw it in 3D at Comic Con, and the extension makes it even better. I'm still on the fence about the mystical, faux-Native American aspects of the story, but in typical Cameron fashion, the action looks rock solid. You can check them both out over at Cineplex. |
