Two New Stills From J.J. Abrams' Super 8

At this stage in the game I'm fairly confident that the mystery surrounding Super 8 isn't going to be solved in the marketing. The movie is set to be released in early June and while the broad assumption is that there's an alien involved, nothing has been confirmed, simply "unusual disappearances and inexplicable events," as described in the official synopsis. What we do know is that the title comes from the camera that the lead character, played by Joel Courtney, uses to make movies with his friends and that there is a scene with a giant train explosion. In that sense, these two new stills show us don't really show us anything we don't know...or do they?

Released by Paramount, the first still shows off the group of kids making their movie - which apparently involves fedoras and guns in some way - while the second is a bit more mysterious. Given how dirty their faces are, I'd make the assumption that it's taken from right after the crash, but the way that all three characters are looking up could spell out something totally different. What do you think?
