Two New Writers Hired For Baywatch Comedy
Unfortunately we can't write off today's discussions of a Baywatch movie as an April Fool's joke-- Paramount has been planning to rework the classic jiggle TV show into a comedy at least since last year, and probably longer. Now THR is reporting that a new pair of writers has been hired to adapt the screenplay.
The photo THR chose to run of writers Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka is adorable, and pretty much sells them for the job instantly-- they're wearing matching bowling shirts and looking like the kind of guys who would die to roll with The Dude (see right). The two will be working alongside The Break-Up co-writer Jeremy Garelick, who was hired last summer to rewrite the screenplay and direct. I hope they're prepared to pose in matching red bathing suits soon-- the Baywatch movie is set for a summer release next year.
