Since Lord of the Rings she's married a Space Hog, popped out a baby, and now Liv Tyler is slimming back down and returning to work. The Hollywood Reporter says she's in negotiations along with Jada Pinkett Smith and Saffron Burrows to join the cast of the Columbia Pictures drama Reign O'er Me.

Frankly, for a recovering Liv Tyler fan this is something of a relief. I'd resigned myself to the fact that she and relevancy might be done with each other, and had moved on to focus my obsession on Rachel McAdams. But Reign O'er Me already stars Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle, which makes certain that whatever else the movie is, it'll probably be relevant. People are going to see it. Welcome back to the box office Liv!

Directed by Mike Binder, the movie is another September 11th cash in (I've just resigned myself to them at this point, no point in whining, it's happening), this time the story of a man played by Sandler who lost his family in the September 11th attacks. Much later and he still hasn't recovered from his grief. He runs into a college roommate turned psychiatrist played by Cheadle, who tries to help him cope with his loss. Saffron Burrows would play a patient of Cheadle, Smith would play Cheadle's wife, and Liv would play another psychiatrist named Angela.

You probably last remember Liv as part of the Kevin Smith catastrophe Jersey Girl, but it wasn't her fault. In fact, she was the best thing about that movie. This March you'll be able to see her in a little Steve Buscemi directed indie movie called Lonseome Jim, and she's also slated to star in the revenge movie Coin Locker Babies along with Val Kilmer and Asia Argento. Like so many Hollywood mothers, Liv must be really sick of spending time with her kid. Leave him with Grandpa Steve Liv.
