Our good friend Clint Morris over at Moviehole is working on a movie, and he’s doing it with Tyrese Gibson. You know Tyrese. He’s the only reason to watch 2 Fast 2 Furious, and this summer he’ll be in Transformers.
According to the press release that just came across my desk, Tyrese has signed up to help Clint and his partner Rock Shaink produce a “no holds barred zombie film” called Condition Dead. They’re saying it’s in the vein of James Cameron’s Aliens, which sounds kind of cocky, but at least they're aiming high with it.
Written by Dave Davis, the plot “centers on an elite team of government-subsidized zombie-hunters who are mysteriously ambushed by a viscous new breed of zombie”. So far we’ve seen fast zombies, slow zombies, smart zombies, dumb zombies, zombies raised from the dead, and zombies created by diseases and green mists. Where else is there to go with them? Apparently Condition Dead has found a new direction.
Adding Tyrese to the production certainly raises the movie’s profile. So far he’s just producing it. The movie is an ensemble, whether or not that ensemble will include Tyrese remains to be seen. For now though, he’s producing.

"a viscous new breed of zombie”
Is that a typo, or are they thick zombies?
