United 93 Arriving On Blu-Ray This September image
It's been long enough now that the events of September 11th have been addressed on film in a variety of ways, from the surprisingly subtle to the outright tacky. To this day, however, no film has more artfully and respectfully portrayed 9/11 than director Paul Greengrass' United 93. Now, as we approach the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Universal has announced a Blu-ray release for United 93, arriving a few days before the anniversary itself on September 6th.

United 93 is like Schindler's List: an amazing film, an important film, but also an extremely difficult film to sit through. I'm not sure how many people will be eager to add United 93 to their collection so they can watch it over and over again. But for those who do, Universal is providing several bonus features along with the high-def version of the film. Rundown and cover art below.

  • Feature Commentary with Director Paul Greengrass
  • United 93: The Families and the Film
  • Chasing Planes -- Witnesses to 9/11
  • Memorial Pages
  • Twin Towers
  • Flight 93 National Memorial
  • My Scenes
  • Pocket BLU
