Nope, these aren’t official stills released by Sony but they are damn good photographs taken of Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell on the NYC set of The Other Guys. Whoever is responsible for taking these photos for Accidental Sexiness must have a nice camera because these images are pristine. On top of that, most of them seem to capture scenes in progress.
If the pictures (via Firstshowing) lead you to believe Wahlberg plays a rugged cop and Ferrell his straightedge partner, you’d be correct. Ferrell’s character is Detective Allen Gamble, a forensic scientist who prefers to crack his cases from the comfort of his office and Wahlberg’s the trigger happy Detective Terry Hoitz. When the city can’t turn to their top cops (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson), this unlikely duo has to step up to get the job done. Oh, and at some point, Wahlberg’s character must lose his shoes. Directorial duties belong to Adam McKay who also co-wrote the script with Chris Henchy. Both men have worked with Ferrell in the past; McKay on Anchorman and Step Brothers and Henchy on Land of the Lost. It’s easy for a Will Ferrell comedy to spin out of control and into absurdity so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens with this one. In the meantime, I’ve got to find out what kind of camera this photographer was using.
