Last February we warned you that a He's Just Not That Into You clone called Valentine's Day was imminent, and as of Valentine's Day 2010 would be suckering in the lovelorn and guys who don't know what else to do with their girlfriends on Valentine's Day.

Now The New York Times, of all people, has an update on the project, and the prognosis appears to be even worse than we thought. They're attracting even bigger talent for this thing, which means even more pressure to actually see it. Apparently Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel and, uh, Shirley MacLaine are all up for parts. As for the men, well, the pickings are a little slimmer-- Bradley Cooper will earn the distinction of starring in this film as well as He's Just Not That Into You, and Ashton Kutcher may not be far behind. But as director Garry Marshall put it, it's more of a negotiation than a movie, so expect at least a few of those names to fall by the wayside.

Is any of this reason to see the movie? Of course not-- it's still essentially the romantic comedy version of Crash, which might make it the most intolerable movie ever made. But again, if it attracts this many stars, that means plenty of people are going to see it, and that, essentially, means that we're all doomed.
