Now that Watchmen has popped 2009’s blockbuster cherry, it’s nothing but big movies from here on out. This week it’s Race to Witch Mountain, a remake of sorts though I don’t think anyone’s particularly attached to the enjoyable but not particularly memorable original Escape to Witch Mountain movies. This one stars the rock and Carla Gugino, whom you may have seen hamming it up this past weekend in the aforementioned Watchmen.
It’s the story of Las Vegas cab driver Jack Bruno (Dwayne Johnson), who when he encounters two teens with supernatural powers in his cab, suddenly finds himself in the middle of an adventure he can’t explain. Working together, Jack and his young passengers discover that the only chance to save the world lies in unraveling the secrets of Witch Mountain, and the race begins.
