Earlier this summer Paul Feig’s Bridesmaids premiered and surprised a lot of people. It wasn’t that the story was anything revolutionary or as though the film will go on to sweep the Oscars, but it did show that there are a lot of incredibly funny women acting today that simply aren’t getting the roles that they deserve. Jake Kasdan, with his female-driven comedy Bad Teacher has accomplished a very similar feat, though in a much different way.

Two weeks ago I had the chance to chat with Kasdan, which you can watch in the video below. Check it out to learn how he went about building a cast with such incredible comedians, crafting a make-shift Freaks and Geeks reunion, and using Cameron Diaz’s charm to take off the edge.
