Video Interview: Bad Teacher's Lucy Punch![]()
They always say it's more fun to play the villain, but how does that work when the hero is a heavy-drinking, pot-smoking, sailor-level-cursing asshole? In the Jack Kasdan-directed Bad Teacher, Lucy Punch may have to play the character with a conscience, but that doesn't mean she doesn't get to have a lot of fun too.
In the film, Punch plays Amy Squirrel, the friendliest and most chipper educator you will ever see. The problem, however, is that for some reason nobody can see what a terrible person second-year teacher Elizabeth Halsey (Cameron Diaz) is, and takes Amy upon herself to expose Elizabeth for what she really is before it's too late. Shame is that it drives her a tad bit crazy in the process. A few weeks back I had the pleasure of sitting down with Lucy Punch to talk about her role in the film, and I was lucky enough to get it all on video. Check out the interview below in which Punch talks about developing her character's appearance, back story and the experience of shooting in the movie in Los Angeles as a stand-in for Chicago. |
