Video: The Origins Of The Spirit![]()
“This movie is not a tribute to Will Eisner. It’s a tribute to The Spirit.” Those words are spoken by director Frank Miller in the video featurette entitled, “The Origin of The Spirit”, which you’ll find below all my usual blather. The video attempts to clue audiences in on exactly where The Spirit came from because let’s face it, paying tribute to something like this is meaningless unless people already knew of its existence before seeing the tribute.
That may be where The Spirit runs into trouble because ultimately, nobody except a few hardcore comic fans has heard of The Spirit or, despite his genius, cares about Will Eisner. Audiences will need all the education Frank Miller can give them, if they’re going to get anything out of it. Get with the learning, by watching the video below: |
