At some point in the following Where the Wild Things Are featurette, author Maurice Sendak compares the people who transformed his book into a movie to a bunch of hippies. Except he means it as a good thing. Spike Jonze is certainly a strange filmmaker, which really ought to make him perfect for Where the Wild Things Are. The book’s author at least, seems to agree.
