Viggo Mortensen Enters Talks To Star In Snow White And The Huntsman
At the present moment, there are three Snow White projects in development: Disney's Snow White and the Seven, Universal's Snow White and The Huntsman, and Relativity Media's The Brothers Grimm: Snow White. Each of them is at varied stages, but when it comes to the casting game, Universal is in the lead. Just two weeks back it was reported that South African beauty Charlize Theron would be taking on the role of the Evil Queen and now the project has one of it's two titular leads.
Variety reports that Viggo Moretensen has officially entered talks to play in Snow White and The Huntsman. A retelling of the classic Grimm fairy tale directed by Rupert Sanders, the film will see the huntsman character not sent to kill Snow White, but rather as Snow White's protector after the queen orders her to be executed. The film is still looking for its female lead, though, as previously reported, Riley Keough, Felicity Jones, Bella Heathcoat and Alicia Vikander have all been shortlisted. The movie will film this summer and is scheduled to be released on December 21, 2012.
The part was previously rumored for the likes of Tom Hardy and Johnny Depp, but apparently they were either both too busy or the rumors never had an base in truth. Either way, considering the guy is better known as Aragorn, I'm fairly certain that he won't be too hard to believe as the protector of Snow White.
