Viggo Mortensen No Longer In Talks For Snow White And The Huntsman![]()
When the rumor began that Viggo Mortensen was being considered for the role of Zod in Zack Snyder's Superman (since debunked), one interesting piece of info slipped out. The report said that after a month of negotiations, the actor had still not closed a deal to play in Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman. Now, another month later, it appears that negotiations have completely fallen apart.
Variety reports that the actor is officially no longer in talks to play the titular Huntsman in the fairy tale adaptation. The story doesn't say why the two sides couldn't come to terms (Mini Update: THR is saying that Mortensen wanted $8 million and gross participation, a sum that Universal wasn't willing to give him). While the studio now has to look for a new actor to take the part, Kristen Stewart is still attached as Snow White and Charlize Theron will play the Evil Queen. Directed by Rupert Sanders, production is scheduled to begin in the fall and be released on December 21, 2012. Prior to Mortensen entering talks there were other names floating including Tom Hardy and Johnny Depp, though both are probably way too busy to work on the film. What do you think? Who should be the actor who teaches Kristen Stewart how to defend herself in the woods? |
