Viggo Mortensen has tapped into his violent side, and he’s not quite ready to put the guns down just yet.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Viggo has signed on to star in the new British thriller Eastern Promises, reteaming with History of Violence director David Cronenberg. Focus Features will distribute the film, which is written by Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things).

The story is about a Russian prostitute who dies during childbirth, and a nurse that is dragged into a dark underworld involving the Russian mafia. Whoops, not exactly the group of people that you want on your bad side. Mortensen will play the enigmatic man with ties to the mob. Just don't call him Joey.

Production on Eastern Promises is slated for this fall.
