Vince Vaughn And Owen Wilson's The Internship Adds A Teen Wolf
By now, we’re pretty convinced that Shawn Levy’s The Internship is ready to shoot, like, tomorrow. The medium-concept comedy already has its leads locked, with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson paired to play unemployed salesmen trying to get back in the digital age by earning an internship at a top-notch tech firm. Then Levy reportedly tapped Max Minghella of The Social Network to play the duo’s chief rival. And the casting carousel continues.
Variety says Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien has been hired to the project to play one of the many interns in the competitive program Vaughn and Wilson join. And in the story, the trade confirms that Levy is set to begin filming on The Internship next week, probably shooting for a 2013 release date. Could 20tht Century Fox slot it into a similar late-July weekend as this year’s The Watch, also with Vaughn? You can bet if that sci-fi comedy takes off, the studio will consider letting lightning strike twice in the same spot.
O’Brien has been generating positive reviews for his work on MTV’s Teen Wolf, which currently is in its second season. Variety notes that his latest film The First Time recently was picked up by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions, and it will be released in the fall. His role in Internship likely will be small, but audiences are turning out to see Wedding Crashers veterans Vaughn and Wilson reunite and try to rekindle their chemistry. The rest of the supporting cast is just whipped cream on top of the comedy sundae.
