Earlier this week it was announced that, after years of planning, a feature film based onVoltron had been scrapped in favor of a new television series on Nicktoons and a toy line. Ted Koplar, the president of the rights holder World Event Prods, called the move a way to "introduce the brand to a generation that isn't familiar with Voltron" and that "what's paramount is getting the toys right." Apparently it took less than 24 hours for Koplar to change his mind.

Speaking with MTV, along with producer Richard Suckle, Koplar is now saying that Voltron movie is still on and that a screenwriter will be announced soon. According to one-day-later Koplar, "the movie has always been and still is the locomotive that's driving our thinking," and that what has slowed development over the years is finding the "right message for both the new generation and for the old generation."

This just in:I have just time traveled back from tomorrow and Koplar announces that there is no Voltron movie being made, nor will there be a new show or toy line. Instead, they will take all of the money from those three ventures and put them towards building an actual Voltron robot to protect the Earth from the evil King Zarkon.
