WB Becomes Smart

There’s no stopping Big Screen TV adaptations. This time around though, it appears to have potential. The folks over at Warner Brothers are readying Get Smart, the bumbling spy series co-created by Mel Brooks.

Don Adams originated the role of Maxwell Smart, Agent 86, in the shows 5 year run on the air in the late 60's, as well as it’s leap to the big screen in 1980's The Nude Bomb. In 1995 the show was breifly resurrected with most of its original cast but was cancelled fast than anyone knew it. Andy Dick appeared in that series as Zach Smart, Maxwell’s son.

Today, the role of Maxwell Smart appears to be in the hands of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’s Steve Carrell (Anchorman,Sleepover). No word yet on anyother casting, director, status of the script, shooting date, or intended release date.
