So far Marvel Studios has made one mega-successful film and one mildly successful one. It’s still relatively early in the game for them, yet they’re already being taken incredibly seriously. So seriously that the folks over at Warner Brothers are considering copying their game plan.
Variety says Warner Brothers will hold the equivalent of a “superhero summit” with their partners at DC. They’re planning high-level, hush-hush meetings in which they’ll put together a master-strategy for the making of movies out of DC’s massive stable of well-known superheroes.
Till now that sort of connected strategy has never been done with DC’s characters. They’ve simply been made into movies piecemeal, whenever Warners gets around to it. But with Marvel making a series of superhero movies connected together by one master plan, a plan which is supposed to culminate in a team-up movie featuring all of their characters, the pressure is on Warner Brothers and DC to get more organized.
Really, it’s about time. Except for Batman, everything we’ve heard about any of the superhero projects over at Warner Brothers has turned into nothing short of a mess. After months and months of conflicting stories we still don’t know what’s going on with Superman, and I doubt they do either. And then there’s Justice League, which is presumably lost in the Phantom Zone. And what about other big time DC characters like Flash? Surely if Marvel can make movies out of a spares like Thor and Ant Man, WB ought to be able to get something done with Wonder Woman. Maybe this will be the thing that finally golden lassos their act together. Here’s hoping.

Wow, Maybe DC will get their act together and instead of churning out mediocre movies (Batman excluded) alongside a Justice League movie, they'll make some excellent big-budget movies, with great actors and directors (important note: hire directors who are not only talented, but FANS of the comic they are working on. No superhero movie director should be hired, and then later have to learn about the character) and bring it all together a few years down the road (see: Marvel and Avengers)
I really didn't see the sense to them talking about a Justice League movie without using the curent Batman and Superman actors. It's dumb enough that the guy on Smallville is now in like his 7th year of high school and is now pushing 30! The logical progression should have been for him to take over the movie franchise. I grew up with the DC universe and Marvel a distant 2nd, but as far as the movies go, there's been no comparison.
