Warner Brothers wants more of Zack Snyder. Snyder is the guy responsible for directing the cool as hell looking upcoming Spartan movie 300 for the WB, he’s also (we hope) on track to direct an adaptation of the milestone comic ‘Watchmen’. Apparently Warners likes what he’s doing because they’ve inked his newly formed production company Cruel & Unusual Films to a two-year first-look deal.

That’s good news for anyone looking forward to 300, because if the WB wants more of him then they must be feeling pretty confident about his next movie. Warners exec Jeff Robinov told Variety: “Zack is an incredible storyteller -- he's got vision and a style all his own.”

More importantly, maybe this is good news for Watchmen. Snyder is currently in pre-production on the film, but Watchmen has been in pre-production before. Usually, it never makes it past pre-production and the film’s tortured journey through development hell is at this point, almost becoming legendary. For once though, it sounds like the guy assigned to make it actually has the full confidence of the people funding it. Watchmen may actually get made, and more importantly, with Snyder doing it the thing could be really good.
