Score one for the double M!
Wahlberg and Joaquin are getting back together. Once Joaquin Phoenix is done standing around to see if he’ll get an Oscar, he’ll go to work with Mark Wahlberg for director James Gray in the movie We Own the Night according to the old faithful of entertainment reporting, Variety.

Marky Mark and the Man in Black have worked together before, and they did so for James Gray in his 2000 movie The Yards. Gray’s latest effort, We Own the Night casts them brothers on opposite sides of the law during the 1980s struggle between the NYPD and the Russian mob. Mark Wahlberg plays a cop fighting Russian gangs while his black sheep brother played by Joaquin ends up working for the Russians.

Mark has just finished working on Invincible and The Departed, both due out later this year. He’s also slated to star in a sequel to The Italian Job, titled The Brazilian Job.

Joaquin is hanging around collecting awards, battling addictions, getting fat, and getting un-fat until he goes to work for Gray next month in New York on We Own the Night.
