Wait, Who Else Is Universal Considering To Direct Wolf Man?![]()
Just a few hours ago the recently abandoned Wolf Man movie showed some potential. Even though Universal is having to find someone else to head up the picture, the rumored possibilities showed promise. Alas, not all good things are meant to last, as another name has surfaced from the same source that brought us the first two, and it’s not only not as good – it would be a death sentence for this picture.
If AICN’s most recent report is to be believed (and trust us, they don’t sound any happier about it than anyone else), Universal is considering Rush Hour director Brett Ratner as the new director for The Wolf Man. Yes, the same Ratner who has churned out three identical comedy-action pieces playing on racial differences. Yes, the same Ratner who killed the X-Men franchise. I don’t know how he’s still being considered for prime pieces like this, but apparently he is. If Brett Ratner is brought on board, this movie will be set back drastically. Breck Eisner and Matt Reeves show a lot of potential as directors. Hell, even Stephen Sommers wouldn’t be a bad pick, given his love of old-fashioned monster movies (although I guess he’s tied up with pre-production on G.I. Joe right now). But Ratner would be a huge mistake, draining the film of the love and ability Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, and Rick Baker will put into the project. |
