Revolution Pictures and Happy Madison Productions are currently working on Benchwarmers, a comedy about three guys who form a three man baseball team to play against youth groups, thereby proving themselves valid after a high school life of athletic failures. But when your cast already stars Rob Schneider and David Spade, who do you go to for your third stooge? How about last years biggest loser, Napoleon Dynamite himself, Jon Heder.

Heder joins the cast which also includes Craig Kilborn (aren’t you glad you left your talk show career for this?) and Jon Lovitz. With a cast like that how could this miss? I don’t know... why don’t they try to resurrect Chris Farley while they’re at it. Surely there is some stock footage somewhere of him falling down that could be inserted into a baseball field.

Heder moves to Benchwarmers after completing Just Like Heaven with Mark Ruffalo and Reese Witherspoon, as well as doing voice work for an upcoming Sony motion-capture film. Let’s see.. raging success with Dynamite, working with Ruffalo and Witherspoon, then a cartoon, and now Spade and Schneider. Hear that sound Heder? That’s the alarm on your fifteen minutes man. Prepare to re-enter obscurity.
